Speaker Bio: Theresa is a licensed Family Law Attorney, Arbitrator and Mediator in the state of NC. She is the founder of Modern Legal, a law office located in Charlotte and Gastonia. Her childhood experiences of domestic violence motivated her to pursue family law and advocate for families and survivors. She became the first lawyer in her family after attending George Washington University and University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill. Theresa’s associations include American Bar Association, Family Law Section; North Carolina State Bar; 26th Judicial District Bar/Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Family Law Section; Former Chair of the Mecklenburg County Bar Family Law Section; and Former Playing for Others Board Chair.
