Safety Planning
Personalized and practical planning can help a client understand what are some of the possible situations that could put him/her at elevated risk to personal safety and ways to avoid them or get out of them. We will go through a checklist along with specific concerns and solutions based on each individual client’s situation.
Interpretation Assistance
We have a robust volunteer base comprised of professionals from various fields who are proficient in various South Asian languages. We maintain a database of volunteers and their proficient languages who are available when clients express that they feel more comfortable talking in their language.
Housing Assistance
Leaving an abusive relationship is often the most dangerous time for victims. We offer shelter referrals to secure and confidential shelter locations. We also help our clients to secure temporary, transitional or permanent affordable housing based on what their needs are.
Resource Referrals
After a thorough intake, we make appropriate referrals to family law attorneys, immigration attorneys, mental health therapists, and tax professionals, depending on each individual case.
Secondary Family Services
Our case managers assist in arranging child care and transportation services for clients.
Legal Advocacy
We provide comprehensive legal advocacy services, including court
accompaniment and referrals to family and immigration attorneys. The organization offers assistance with filling out legal forms and advocates with law enforcement on behalf of clients. Additionally, we conduct cultural sensitivity training programs for law enforcement and partner agencies to enhance their understanding and support for the South Asian community.
