10th RDU Heroes for Hope Walkathon

Every year, we host our “Heroes for Hope” Walkathon to raise awareness and funds for domestic violence services. As the only agency in North Carolina serving South Asian survivors, we are in a unique position to provide culturally sensitive services for our clients and support/complement the services provided by mainstream domestic violence agencies to South Asian clients.

Over the last ten years we have had the honor of seeing more and more sponsors, volunteers, donors, town officials, and participants come out and support our survivors. We are not just celebrating the success of this year’s walk but for every year! We are so grateful to the support of this community over the past 25 years. None of this could be possible without you all…thank you! Stay tuned for the wonderful photos taken by Amrit Wadwha!

We want to especially thank Jyoti Bairoliya for the lovely face painting and Sahiba Irfan for the beautiful henna. Thank you, Nischitha Shetty for the enthusiastic warm-up to start off our event! This event was even more incredible through the captivating performances by Julia Joy’s dance group and Duke Deewana! We are grateful to our food and drink sponsors: Sixth Sense, Nukkad and Mughal Kitchen for providing such delicious and yummy treats. Last but certainly not least…thank you to each community sponsor, town official, volunteer, donor, and participant who made this year (our tenth year!) SO special 💜🧡
