Virtual Zentangle Workshops for Teens
Creativity, mindfulness, and confidence came together during Kiran’s two-part Empower Through Art: Zentangle workshop for middle and high school students.
Artist and certified educator Rupam Varma shared how she discovered Zentangle during the COVID-19 pandemic, became certified, and learned about the art form’s origins. With her camera focused on her workspace, Rupam demonstrated each line, shape, and pattern. Participants followed along, adding one element at a time until simple strokes grew into beautiful, detailed artwork. Each finished piece reflected the student’s own creativity and style.
The workshops gave adolescents more than a finished design. They learned an accessible creative practice they can use whenever they want to slow down, focus, express themselves, or simply enjoy creating. With only paper and a pen, Zentangle can become a lasting tool for mindfulness, confidence, and emotional balance.
We are grateful to Rupam for sharing her story, talent, and guidance with our young participants.
