2026 Community Research Symposium

A Kiran staff member and intern attended the 2026 Community Research Symposium in Greensboro, North Carolina, hosted by the Montagnard/Asian Community Disparities Research Network. Thank you to UNC Greensboro professor Dr. Sudha Shreeniwas, PhD for inviting Kiran to the symposium! 

The symposium brought together policymakers, researchers, healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, and community advocates to discuss challenges and opportunities facing low-income Asian American refugee and immigrant communities across the state.

Throughout the day, they participated in sessions focused on community-driven research, health equity, mental health, leadership development, cultural preservation, and policy engagement. The discussions highlighted the importance of community voices, culturally responsive solutions, and collaboration across sectors to address health and social disparities.
